Los Angeles Weekend - Day 3: Flying home
Day 3 Today Tanner and I got up and packed before heading to LAX to fly home. We had another layover in Vancouver, so we had dinner at the Stanley Park Brewing Company airport location. My food was so good, but sometime while we were having dinner, between getting up to check out flight status and eating, I managed to lose my wallet. Luckily, I had given my passport to Tanner to hold on to throughout the trip, as I am sort of known for losing things. Whoops! We made it home

Los Angeles Weekend - Day 2: Our Day in LA
Day 2 We got up after two hours of rest in our hotel and went to the airport. We got there as quick as we could and ran through the airport, but still managed to almost miss our flight. Tanner ran to the gate and talked to the agent until I could make it over; she told us if we would have come one minute later the gate would have been closed, but they let us board and we flew into LAX. Once we were in California, we went straight to our Airbnb in Alhambra for some rest. We

Los Angeles Weekend - Day 1: Whoops We're in Vegas
Day 1 Tanner and I went out to Winnipeg this morning to fly out to LA. Unfortunately, our flight got delayed so we missed our connecting flight out of Vancouver. They didn't have any more Vancouver to Los Angelos flights for the weekend so we decided to take a flight to Las Vegas for the night, and then we can fly to LA in the morning. We flew into Las Vegas and went straight to the hotel to drop off our bags. Since its a Friday, last minute, in Vegas, almost all of the hot

Central Valley & Bay Area - Day 6: Home Time!
Today, we woke up extremely early, and Angel drove me back to Los Angeles to go to the airport. He has some friends coming for a guys trip in Southern California so it worked out well timing wise to fly back from LA. Once we got to LA, we were still early for my flight, so we went to Santa Monica Pier to explore. We went on a few rides and walked around the pier before heading to the beach for a few minutes. I ran into the ocean. After the beach, we picked up our friends for

Central Valley & Bay Area - Day 1: LA -> Atwater
Day 1 Today, I woke at UCLA after LEAP Week. Normally, today is the day all of the students fly home, but I'm staying in California for an extra week to see my friends! We've been friends for years online but this will be our first time meeting in person. Im a little nervous but mostly just excited. I got my belongings together and took an Uber down to Hollywood Boulevard. I spent a while searching the walk of fame for names I recognized, stopping for photos at Snoop Dogg a

LEAP Week - Day 3: Jonathan Sprinkles, Aundria Littlejohn, Prince Jackson, Kevin Olusola
Day 3 We started our morning with a motivational speech by Jonathan Sprinkles! It was so much fun! I made sure to sit in the front row so I could focus better and learn more; I definitely wished I was seated closer yesterday. Once Jonathan Sprinkles left, Aundria Littlejohn came on stage to teach us about how to "Copy Genius." Next, we got to speak with Prince Jackson over zoom. It was so cool being able to hear his story and ask him questions. Then, Dr. Bill came back to

LEAP Week - Day 1: YWG -> LAX
Day 1 I came up to Winnipeg with my family yesterday morning and we went to the Assiniboine Park Zoo, before checking into the hotel for the night. My flight to Los Angeles was at four in the morning so I didn't get much sleep, but my family dropped me off at the airport and I met up with a few friends from school. We checked in and went through security together, before waiting for our flight. We flew from Winnipeg, MB to Vancouver, BC, then to Los Angeles, CA. Once we ar
