Central Valley & Bay Area - Day 1: LA -> Atwater

Day 1

Today, I woke at UCLA after LEAP Week. Normally, today is the day all of the students fly home, but I'm staying in California for an extra week to see my friends! We've been friends for years online but this will be our first time meeting in person. Im a little nervous but mostly just excited.

I got my belongings together and took an Uber down to Hollywood Boulevard. I spent a while searching the walk of fame for names I recognized, stopping for photos at Snoop Dogg and Paul Anka's stars. I also stopped for a henna tattoo.

After that, I decided to take a driving tour through the city. I'm normally not one for tourist traps like that, but I just wanted to sit down for a bit while still being able to sight see. It was a great tour and it was cool to hear so many stories about places, but the driver was making me so uncomfortable it basically ruined the entire experience. He would not stop trying to convince me to go out with him and give him my phone number!

After I quickly exited the tour, I stopped by a psychic shop. That was also a terrible experience. She knew a lot about me, but she also told me I was ruining everyones lives and they would all die unless I "buy [her] $900 crystals and rest them under [my] pillows." So I left, and then I cried, and then I called Angel for an ETA because he was coming to pick me up.

I ended up at the shopping centre before leaving Hollywood Boulevard. I didn't buy anything other than a few keychains, but it was cool to look around.

I slowly made my way back to UCLA to met Angel. Once I got there I started waiting; I set up my camera's so I could record it and then sat beside the student service building.

When Angel pulled up his car, I was so shocked my jaw dropped. He got out of the vehicle and I ran up to him and gave him a hug. I wasn't really worried about it, but seeing that he is a real living person is so cool after so long on discord. He's going to be driving me back to his parent's house to stay with them for the week. I'm so excited to meet them, and his sister, and our other friends!
