California Road Trip - Day 5: Welcome Aly!

Day 5

Aly is here!!

I drove back into San Francisco where I spent the morning nearby the airport drawing welcome messages for Aly in chalk on my car. Once her flight was on final descent, I pulled into the airport parking lot to pick her up. I was so excited to see her, I ran up to her and gave her a big hug in the middle of the airport.

After we managed to load her things into my car, we went for drinks at Boba Guys.(best boba Ive ever had) Then we went to our hotel in Oakland.

Its... an interesting experience. I don't know why I didn't know anything about Oakland before staying there, especially being raised on the music I was, but I seriously didn't think about even looking into it. It was just one night. But the hotel was sketchy as f***, I spent like half an hour moving things around my car, making sure NOTHING was visible, and before settling down for the night Aly and I barricaded the room door. The elevator was also out of service and there were a few interesting people hanging out in the stairwell, but were making it through the night and then heading off to out Airbnb in San Leandro tomorrow morning.
