California Road Trip - Day 4: Elko, NV -> San Francisco, CA
Updated: Sep 7
Day 4
I woke up this morning and spent a bit of time shopping at the Safeway in Elko, (Did you know Nevada has Safeway Casino machines?) before hitting the road again. Im not in a huge rush anymore, as Ive made really good time getting down here and my best-friend Aly's flight doesn't even get in until tomorrow.
Once I started driving I drove directly to Hippie Hill, in Golden Gate Park, one of my favourite places. It was one of the very first places my best-friend Angel took me to my first time in San Francisco, and I fell in love with it immediately.
For those of you who know my grass goals, I would like to say that while California has my favourite grass overall so far, the grass at Hippie Hill is unbeatable. It is so soft and bright, I loved walking around barefoot on the hill and feeling it under my feet.
After spending some time walking around Golden Gate Park, I booked a last-minute Airbnb in Berkeley, and started driving over. I made a stop at In n' Out Burger and then went to the Airbnb. It was a cute little basement suite with a very comfortable bed. I had a shower before settling in for the night. Unfortunately when I got out of the shower my belly-button piercing fell out and I cant find it anywhere now. I think Ill have to put in a new one tomorrow; I hope it doesn't grow over.
