Florida Parks - Day 3: Discovery Cove!
Day 3
Today, we woke up at 0630 and left the condo for Discovery Cove! We arrived at the park before opening and had to wait at the entrance for a while; It wasn't too bad though, as there were a lot of other travellers waiting with us.
Once we got inside, we grabbed some coffee and began exploring. WE all walked around for a while before choosing which activities to try. We decided on SeaVenture, shark-swimming, dolphin-swimming,
First we did SeaVenture, an underwater walking tour at Discovery Cove, where you can walk underwater in a dive helmet, while fish and other sea creatures swim around you. It was so cool to see the fish up close!
Next, we went swimming with sharks! We were able to snorkel around and interact with many different sharks, including Pacific Black-tip, Zebra, White-tip Reef, Nurse, and Bonnet-head Sharks. I was definitely a bit nervous going into it, but once I got in the water with them it was actually really fascinating!
After that, Bailey and I went swimming with dolphins. Watching the dolphins do their tricks was awesome, and it was wonderful being able to interact with them so closely. They came up, gave us both a kiss, and even pulled us through the water! It was such a great experience.
Then, we tried to go into the aviary; However we didn't spend much time there, as Bailey and I both quickly discovered our intense fear of aviaries! So we left the aviary, and went to the lazy-river, for some much needed relaxation.
After Discovery Cove, we went to the mall for some shopping before returning to the condo for the night.
